(Closed) Elderly cat always smells like cat litter/pee

I also vote two litter boxes. We stacked ours, one on a small table, one under it. You could put little steps in front if he can’t jump ~ 12″ anymore. Or do side by side.  But definitely try it if you can. If he uses both there will be less pee in each at any given time. That with the wipes will hopefully be enough. 

I’d just make extra care that whatever you put on him (wipes or whatever) you run by the vet. Since he already has kidney issues, that’s just more for him to process of he does still clean himself at all. Whatever you do, don’t use essential oils. They’re toxic to pets (just fyi, I thought of them once myself and now warn everyone).

I agree with PPs about adding a second box. It might not be the most convenient thing for your apartment, but I’d pull out all the stops for your little man.
