(Closed) Electronic STD’s?

SO Fiance and I decided that we would forgo doing STD’s for a few reasons…

1. We are very tight with our families and friends and have made it VERY well known when the weddign will be

2. We are paying for a large portion of the wedding ourselves and this was one thing we thought we could cut.

However as we get a little closer there are certain details we want our guests to know prior to when the invitations arrive, especially for the out of town guests. So we were thinking of doing an electronic save the date through email that will refer them to our wedding website.

Has anyone else ever done std’s this way? Was it successful?
