I am looking for a high quality elegant and simple cake server. I’ll take it out and use it for birthday’s and anniversary’s and I love the idea of creating my own family heirloom. Especially when so many other things from the wedding will be put up for sale afterwards (including my dress)! I really thought this would be an easy task, but I’ve been rather disappointed with the quality of the ones I’ve looked at.
I LOVED the Kate Spade ones online, but when I looked at them at Macys I thought that the quality wasn’t really up to the price. Where the knife and handle met it actually wobbled a little!
My price range is about $100, and I am looking for something with sleek simple lines. Here is my favorite ones, but they are WAY too much for a cake serving set!
Any suggestions bees?

I have Kate Spade ones that are just one piece in stainless steel with Mrs on one handle and Mr on the other. Are you registering for a flatware set? There may be a matching server to go with it. I also love Ebay for rare finds.

@canuckbee: maybe try to find something vintage Cristofle on ebay? It will last forever.

@ngz100 I looked at a couple of Kate Spade ones at Macys, but none of them were just one piece, however they didn’t have the Mr & Mrs set… I’ll have another look.
I have a very, very small actual gift registry, most my fiance and I already own a house together so we didn’t need dishes, flatware, or any of the typical items. Actually, we could use new flatware, but I would rather wait for a deal on something I like at Home Goods! In any case, other than a few remaining items at Crate and Barrel our registry is a Honeymoon registry! Something we really need as we may not have otherwise had the money for a honeymoon as we are paying for the wedding ourselves!
