(Closed) Elevated Risk of Down Syndrome after NT screening

bluegreenjean:  Best of luck to you during this stressful time.  As I’m sure you know, there’s a high false positive with the regular screening, which is why my OB recommended Harmony/MaterniT21, but it looks like perhaps those tests wouldn’t help either in a vanishing twin situation.  I’m 34 myself and understand the risks go up as we age, but most women still have perfectly healthy babies at our age.

NightOwl27:  I haven’t heard of any women terminating based on diagnostic testing alone and no reputable doctor would make that recommendation without a slew of further testing.  It’s also frankly insulting to insinuate that women who’ve made the extremely personal and difficult decision to terminate did so “for nothing.”
