I just bought some elk antlers for my great dane and ridgeback… and neither one of them like them. 🙁 I thought dogs were supposed to like them as much as rawhide, but I can’t get them to even try to chew on them… and these dogs are serious chewers, and those antlers weren’t cheap!! Anyone have this problem?

Really? That’s so odd! Dogs usually go crazy over them. You could smear peanut butter on them… might get a bit messy though 🙂

we can barely keep these in stock
not that you want to get more of them, but depending on the shape you got, it may have something to do with them not liking them.
the ones that are shaped like this(one exposed end and thinner), a dog will be more apt to not like since there is not a lot of exposed antler “marrow”
the one with more exposed innards like this, the dogs seem to like more
the disk shaped ones do really well too

@bind9449: My ridgeback finally started chewing on it (5 hours) after the great dane stopped laying on it – LOL. it’s the medium sized one that has a lot of marrow exposed. I’m just really surprised that my great dane didn’t even like it – he can go through big rawhide bones in 30 minutes. And, since I know they love the cow foot bones (not hooves), I thought this would be perfect because they don’t splinter. I’ll give it a little longer to see if he takes interest in it now that my other dog started chewing it.
Thanks for your thoughts!
