Has anyone had a small Destination Wedding or eloped in Downtown Boston? We have cancelled our big wedding due to my fathers passing. Just wondering if anyone has any great places or ideas they can share? WE may have a few frineds and fam with us, but no more than 10-12 ppl. It seems like everyone elopes somewhere tropical or on a cruise. We live in FL so we can do tropical anytime. We love the history in Boston, think it’s romantic. Just wondering if anyone else has done so and if so, what did you do???

I didn’t do it myself, but I know a friend of a friend who had a very small (probably 10 people total) wedding in Boston Common. If you do it at the right time of year, particularly the spring, it really is a beautiful location, and quite historic as well.

@greenmint: that is about the only thing we were thinking. Maybe by the duck pond. Our wedding is 9/10/11…that should be a nice time of year.

I had a coworker have a very small wedding at Mistral, and she said it was great. There’s also the Arnold Arboretum (not downtown, but T accessible), which depends on weather, and basically all you do is notify them you’ll be there.
I’m also 9/10/11 in Boston!

Cambridge City Hall is gorgeous (much more so than Boston’s) and they accomodate 15 or so guests. My photographer has shot a couple weddings there:
I have heard good things about Minstral also, if you want a nice dinner in a private room afterwards.
