I considered doing that awhile back but changed my mind. But if you are looking into it, I’d check out the Cosmopolitan or the Platinum  Hotel. They had great options!

a_day_at_the_fair:  Are you looking for beautiful-traditional or something more cheesy?

I had a beautiful-traditional, non-legal wedding in my home state with friends and family. Then on our honeymoon we got legally married in Vegas by Elvis in front of the Vegas sign.

But there are some really nice, less cheesy places to get married. I would look into getting married at the Red Rock Canyon or the Valley of Fire.

One thing to keep in mind, many places have “professional” photographers as a part of the package. But most of them aren’t really “professional”. Many people think that if you can push the button, you are a professional. If pictures are really important to you, hire someone not affiliated with the chapel/hotel that does photography 100% of the time.

a_day_at_the_fair:  I wouldn’t recommend staying at the Stratosphere. Things may have changed, but when I was looking 4 years ago, the Strat did not have good reviews. It’s so far north on the Strip that it’s kinda a pain to get to everything. But you can have your wedding there and stay somewhere else.

Strip hotels will be most expensive. I think we paid between $100-$150 per night and we switched from MGM to Flamingo half way through becuase the price of MGM rooms skyrocketed mid week for some reason. (We ended up like the Flamingo GO rooms better, more our style). But you can stay slightly off the Strip or in Downtown for much cheaper.

a_day_at_the_fair:  Hello!

I haven’t eloped in vegas, but i LOVE Vegas and go as often as i can. I am pretty sure SO and I may get married there when our times comes lol.

I have stayed at Stratosphere twice and had a lovely time. The rooms were nice and spacious and it was fun to go to the top (for free if you stay there!) The only thing is it is a bit of a walk to the main part of the strip. If you have a rental car or youw own, no problem. If not, i would suggest somewhere else as taxis will get pricey.

You can have your wedding there and stay somewhere else. Mandalay Bay had some good options (not sure of your budget though, but they had some reasonable ones that included some perks). Are you looking for outside or inside? Keep in mind vegas weather can be ridiculously hot and humid during certain times of the year (even at 2am it could be 100 degrees!) so keep that in mind when choosing a location and date.

Sams Town is a great, affordable option. It is inside, but has an outside feel and i think it was only a few hundred dollar for a ceremony! It is off-strip so again I wouldnt stay there unless you have a form of transportation but i really like the ceremony site.

EVERYWHERE has a chapel.
