(Closed) Elopement in hotel room, and a reception afterwards?

I love the idea of eloping in “your room.” That would be so meaningful and romantic!

However, I think a same-day reception kind of defeats the purpose of eloping. I’m not sure it’s in bad taste, but I think most people who elope skip the reception and instead have a big party after their honeymoon. However, every community is different. I’d ask some family and friends for their opinions, to see whether your family/friends/community would think it was tacky or not.

If it is just the two of you it sounds good but if there was any family or friends there it may be awkward.  No body wants to stand in a room that they know you too used to have a bunch of sex in and that you are likely to have a bunch of sex in again very soon lol.  Then again it may even be weird for people when they asked where you got married and you explain it to them.  If it has meaning that is symbolic and special to you then enough said….go for it.
