I’m new here, and this is my first post! My fiancé and I are eloping later this summer outdoors in the woods near where we live, with just 3 others present. I was wondering if you think this is a nice dress? The light yellow fabric is a very lightweight/fine tulle, and the white pattern on it is made entirely of sequins, not lace, so it’s a bit more shimmery in person. I’ve tried it on and it fits perfectly, so I won’t need any alterations, but I’m not 100% about it as I’m worried it looks too old-fashioned with the high collar, or like a figure skater’s costume what with all the sequins! I always envisioned wearing something simple and modern, like a plain cream-coloured slip dress or jumpsuit. Does it look bridal enough? For reference, I’m around the size, height and shape of the woman in the photo below, so the dress falls similarly on me. Thanks so much in advance!

I think it is a beautiful dress and you will be a stunning bride. The length is also perfect for a wedding in the woods.

It’s so pretty! I love the sleeves and the sequins

It doesn’t sound like you love it, nor that it is your style. I would keep looking it that rings true.

It’s a bit frumpy for my taste. A bit Little House on the Prairie. I would keep looking.

I think it’s a gorgeous dress but there are a lot more modern options online if you second guess this one.

It’s a beautiful dress and would be very fitting for your venue, but if you aren’t happy with it then you need to keep looking. Because you are the person whose opinion really matters, not a bunch of random strangers online!

It looks perfect to me. I’d wear that in a heartbeat

I’m gonna be honest here. Yes, I agree with you that it looks old fashioned. This is most especially with the collar and the sleeves plus the appliqué or overlay (is that the right word?) is too busy. It doesn’t help either that it’s yellowish, giving it an antique-like appearance like it’s a dress of the late 70’s early 80’s. UNLESS, this is the look you are after.
It sounds like you got doubts anyway. I would keep looking and pick something lighter/ethereal.

It’s a pretty dress and perfectly appropriate for the wedding you described. You seem unsure so perhaps try a few other options on the chance you’ll find something you don’t have doubts about.

Your concerns could be addressed by styling your dress with bold accessories, perhaps something like this:

It’s very fun! As long as it’s your style and you feel awesome in it,that’s all that matters!

Oh I absolutely love it and think it suits your wedding perfectly. But it doesn’t really sound like you love it OP?
