Not sure if you’d want to go out of the country, but my husband and I had an intimate wedding (just us!) in the Dominican Republic at Excellence El Carmen. This really appealed to us because it served as a “weddingmoon” and lots of all-inclusive resorts offer free wedding packages if you book a certain amount of days and room category. Our package included 5 pictures, but you could decide to buy more ($20 per extra photo) after seeing the pictures the next day. It was all very romantic, we loved it!

misspixel :  Are you wanting something beachy? Tropical? Domestic or International? What is your vision? Do you have a specific time of year you’re wanting to do this? That will help narrow it down!

  • Wedding: July 2018 - Mount Princeton hot springs

We eloped at a hot springs in Colorado. We kind of did our own thing but they have a lot of weddings there so I think they could accommodate you. It’s wasnt super fancy, but it’s worth knowing that you can officiate your own marriage there so you don’t have to hire anyone to do it. We actually said our vows on a hike and then came back to the resort and dressed up for photos/cake/dinner. It was so nice,  though I’ve stayed at a lot of other really nice places that are quite romantic if you had anything specific in mind! We only chose Colorado for the freedom to do our own thing!

We had considered Banff for an elopement before we agreed on a classic wedding. Lake Louise in late summer is beautiful!

We eloped to Maui. It was the best decision we ever made. Loads of elopement planners out there for Hawaii in general. All kinds of budgets. You don’t need to think, plan and stress at all. It’s kinda a menu with a la cart options. And it allows for a wedding moon.

  • Wedding: April 2019

I am also planning a semi-elopement (we will have immediate family there) in NYC for April. There are websites that do “elopement packages” or “pop up weddings” that include an officiant, a photographer (for maybe an hour, tops) and maybe a bouquet, but I found them to be pretty expensive (like…1k). I ended up hiring a photographer who specializes in elopements, and his wife happens to be an officiant. We are getting 4 hours of photos and the officiant services for just under 2k (which I think is pretty good for NYC).

I will also be wearing a wedding dress and we will be doing a nice dinner afterwards. I’ll probably buy Bodega flowers that morning and make my own bouquet haha. I think if you want nice pictures you might want to start researching elopement photographers and find one who matches your intended style. They can often point you in the right direction in terms of officiant, location etc.

Good luck! It sounds beautiful!
