My fiancé and I are wanting to elope during the fall(October most likely) somewhere in Vermont but I am overwhelmed with choices and where… it will just be the two of us and the officiant. Does anyone have any ideas? Somewhere small, outdoors, and of course preferabley with some beautiful fall foliage. I’m not interested in any package elopement type things really! Thank you in advance 🙂

Take the tram up Jay Peak, I believe it is open for rides in the summer and fall but you would need to confirm with the resort. There are nice cottages nearby at Sheady Acres. There is also a tram on Stratton Mountain that does scenic rides to summit in early October, and Stowe Mountain / Mount Mansfield as well.
Depending on the date, the Ethan Allen day or sunset cruise on Lake Champlain in Burlington may be another option.
The Bennington area is very scenic in the fall.
Hill Farmstead Brewery is in a beautiful area.
Somewhere in Smugglers Notch State Park would also be nice!

Check out Edson Hill Manor in Stowe. It’s just been completely revamped and has been done really well. Perfect small get away while having lots of great restaurants and hikes nearby. It’s one of my favourite spots in VT!
