sondradee :  I feel like a lot of these companies really jack up the prices for destinations elopement in Italy and France because they think it’s a bunch of deep pockets Americans who don’t know any better. Did you talk to Capri Moments? I can’t remember what I thought about their prices.

btw I’m having a small Las Vegas wedding next week and then we are going to Italy including Amalfi Coast for our honeymoon in October!!

With hair,  makeup, photographer etc,  it doesn’t doesn’t sound like an elopement as much as a wedding with only two guests.  Have you considered a local elopement then honeymoon for two in Italy?

The cheapest package from Capri Moments was 2,600 euro and it included ceremony photography bridal hair and makeup bouquet and boutonnière . I feel like that’s not bad!

The cost of elopement is cheaper than a traditional wedding when the destination has lower local prices and that the cost of traveling hinders guests and lower guest count total. If you pick a destination elopement location in an expensive/luxury/tourist destination, you can expect to pay a premium. The cost of flights alone are a few thousand dollars.

Edit: not having an elopement but a friend is getting married in Tuscany and we are attending their wedding there. They have a family friend with a vineyard who graciously let them use it as a venue, so that saved a lot of money.

Our Paris elopement was under $4000 & that includes hotel/airfare.

I recommend looking for an elopement service. It saved us a lot of stress.

We went to Vegas, but day of cost about $650 with license, ceremony, photographer, hair and makeup. Oh and then a fancy dinner for about $175. Total trip was under $3000 including our wedding attire, rings, hotel and airfare.
