so we decided to elope on the beach this Feb or April (depending on weather.) I have seen a few places that do weddings and pics in CA but wondering if anyone has advice or recomendations??
dont need a bed and breakfast. just a person to marry us and someone to take lovely pictures.
we will be leaving on a Thursday and coming home Monday. (so staying 3-5 days) we just planned on getting a decent hotel and having a lovely dinner that night in our wedding attire. and relaxing the rest of the time or going to Disney 🙂
any ideas would be appreciated.

If you decide on California, take a look into Balboa Park in San Diego. If I were going to get married here, that’s where I would do it. The architecture is gorgeous (back from the World’s Fair at the beginning of the 1900s). And it is just a couple-hour train ride from downtown San Diego to Anaheim for Disneyland. If you’re partial to beaches, just do some web searches, there are plenty of companies that make that happen for you.
http://www.everafterbeachweddings.com/ for example.

When I think of California, I think of this Big Sur elopement I saw on the RuffledBlog.com. Pure and simple.
Their officiant was Soaring Starkey.

- Wedding: November 2013 - St. Augustine Beach, FL
Disney World is much better than Disneyland.
There are plenty of companies that do beach weddings for the couple with just an officiant and a photographer. Google Florida beach wedding package and you should find a bunch. New Smyrna Beach and Cocoa Beach are the closest to Orlando but Clearwater near Tampa has the prettier beaches (check out Sand Key Park, on the West coast of FL is where you will have the sunset in the background of your pictures.)
February and April are great times to come to Florida. February is hit or miss as far as whether it will be cold but that means the beaches will be practically empty and it’s one of the better times of the year to visit Disney World. I would say that April has better weather

thank you!! I agree if we do disney and universal, i would prefer FL. I really love that darn Harry Potter land. so fun. just thought it would be a fun way to chill out after a wedding. I am always going w my kids and rarely get to ride on things waiting for them.
I just want t make sure it wont be cold if I get a strapless dress for Feb or April. BRR!

I actually prefer Disneyland over Disneyworld, but that’s just me. My husband and I got married near a light house in Long Beach, CA last year and did an “elopement” type of wedding. All we did was hire an officiant to be there on a specific date and time. I scoped it out a little earlier so I could pick a spot I really liked and just told the officiant where I was thiking of. It’s near an Aquarium and the Queen Mary. Also, Disneyland is not that far of a drive from there. I’ve enclosed some pics from a thread I created a couple of weeks ago.

ok I have a few questions, for a beach wedding how much time does it take to plan?
do I need 2-5 months?i need to get plain tickets too.
only us or 4 total people there.
if only us, do I need to find a witness, or will the photographer do that?
how did you find your officiant and photographer? just get a package deal?
Im realizing its near end Oct and we wanted to do Feb or April wedding.

anyone heard of Negroni Weddings? seems they have 5 stars but just wanted to see if anyone used them?
Im mostly concerned with good photos and a nice ceremony.
settled on Clearwater beach – now to find a close by flower shop and place to get my hair done.
