It depends where in Scotland you are thinking of, but I got married outdoors on a beach in the highlands in August and it was amazing. We didn’t elope, we had 15 guests, but our photographer and officiant had worked on many weddings in the area with just the bride and groom. Below is a pic from our wedding to give you an idea (Sorry if it’s massive, on the iPad!). Our photographer was amazing and if the highlands is where you are looking I have a few recommendactions for outdoor locations. The people at Fort William registry office are also very helpful with suggestions for outdoor venues and they have a ‘flying registrar’ who covers lots of the islands and remote areas.

We used Neil Thomas Douglas for photography. We was amazing!

there are restrictions on outdoor weddings in Scotland – the place has to have a special license. If you go to the Scotland government website and the marriages section, you can pull a list of locations

Congratulations! I visited Craigmillar Castle in March 2013 and my SO and I were the only people there and it was so romantic!  I heard they do weddings too.You could do it outside or in the yard. Oh and since it’s just the two of you, you can have a romantic candlelight dinner at the Witchery by the Castle!
