Anyone here eloped? My SO is very uncomforatble with the idea of a wedding, he is a very private person and the idea of showing so much vulnerability in front of so many people gives him a lot of anxiety. I had never thought of alternatives until we talked, then I started thinking “how much money would we save not having a wedding?!” and “do I really want this for me or do I want this for my family and friends” and realized I have no strong desire for a wedding wedding myself. So I thought maybe we’ll just go to the courthouse and get married but that felt so small and I would love a little romance. Then I realized we could just elope! Brought this up to my SO and he loves the idea of that. Elope and have a nice dinner with family and friends at a later date to celebrate.
Anyone here eloped? Did you buy a package? Are you happy with your choice? And if you have any advice or suggestions please share!

My fiancé and I are planning a small elopement in March to be followed by a bigger celebration later on this fall. We are planning to have a professional photographer for the elopement. He’s buying a new custom suit, and I’ll be wearing a short dress with fun shoes and will have my hair and makeup done professionally. We plan to celebrate that evening with our parents at a nice restaurant.
I think we’re doing enough to make the day feel “special” without being over the top. I’d say do what feels right to you! I’m sure it will be lovely

My husband and I eloped last year and I don’t regret it one bit! We got our marriage certificate, booked an officiant, photographer and videographer. We didn’t book a package. We got married in the mountains with just my parents and our dog present. My husband still wore a suit and I wore a gown. The day was perfect for us as it was low key, simple, and focused on what mattered most to us. We stayed at a nice hotel that night and celebrated with our family the next day at brunch. Our day felt special and intimate without all the chaos, stress, and expense. Congratulations and best of luck to you whatever you decide!
