I didn’t elope, my I am a wedding photographer and photograph lots of smaller weddings & elopements all the time. Elopements are just as awesome as big, traditional weddings. If you guys want to be married, I’d say just do it. When it comes to having a bigger event later on, I guess the only thing I can contribute to that is that in all honesty…when the time comes and you’re already married most of the time it doesn’t feel worth it. I know sooo many couples who eleoped and planned to have a party or bigger wedding down the road and just never did. By the time they were going to do it, it just didn’t feel like a priority anymore or worth the money since they were already married.

I secretly eloped yesterday! We did an early morning hike and said “I do” with the sun rising over the mountains range. Just myself, my partner, and our officiant. It was so special and absolutely perfect for us! We both would be absolutely fine with eloping and calling it done, however my partner’s family insisted on helping us plan a “big” wedding….and by big, I mean an intimate setting with our closest family and friends because we would never agree to a huge production. Now we’ll have all of the paperwork out of the way so we can simply enjoy being married. Our wedding is Oct 10th at a log cabin Airbnb, completely outdoors. We’re hoping the New England foliage will work out in our favor! Good luck to all other bees 🐝
