@AlmostMrsGiles:  Is your planner fete in france?? Mine is and I’m getting married at the chapelle on Sunday, Oct. 7th.  She originally quoted us 800€ and then weeks later – after we paid the invoice – she emailed saying she misquoted and it’s actually 1,000€.  We are paying her directly so it’s a little fishy.  We hired her for full service package so she is not supposed to be upcharging – if anything, she should be passing along any discounts!

I actually called the Chapelle myself to ask the pricing to confirm, but after I told them my date they told me that they could not quote me any pricing because I was going through my wedding planner.  That meant the pricing was also going through her they said.  Red flag…?

My fiancee and I are eloping in Paris this November. How did you book the Chappelle Expiatore? I had trouble finding contact info on their site. We were planning on doing a small outdoor ceremony. We can’t agree on whether do the legal paperwork before we leave or after we return. Any thoughts?

@StrawberryMilk:  Same here, she hasnt said it was more than 800 yet but I called teh Chapelle and they also wouldnt telll me the price. Def fishy. If she upcharges me Ill call her bluff and say cancel the chapel and get married outside. Thank you for the heads up Ill keep an eye out. Our wedding is only two weeks away…

@AlmostMrsGiles:  I’m sure you’re probably still honeymooning, but I wanted to check back! How’d it go? How much was the chapel? Pics yet?

@shoegal_622:  Were home! What an amazing trip! Everything went very smooth with the Chapel and Nancy. I am so beyond happy with everything she did, and put together. I had 0 worries the day of the wedding. If your thinking about eloping to Paris, DO IT. It was teh best decision Ive ever made in my life.

I am still waiting on my professional pictures but I will post a few that I have in a new thread.

@StrawberryMilk:  I dont know about your specific senario but Nancy addressed my concern with the chapel pricing as soon as she was made aare. So no problems here with us. It was the correct price and we had no issues with it fluctuating

@AlmostMrsGiles:  I’m so excited to see the pics!!! Did you end up going with the Vera Wang Gemma or did you choose a different gown? (I remember you from the Gemma thread Laughing) The Chapelle was the 600 euros or was yours more?

Fun note: Your wedding date is my grandparents anniversary!! They’ve been married 50+ years, so sending those positive vibes your way!!

@AlmostMrsGiles: I am getting married in the chapelle on 9/2. I have made a lot of progress, but it still feels like I have a long way to go. I am working with a planner, but I still investigate and research her recommendations or find them myself. It looks like i am having a similar number of guests as you did.  I actually saw your video of your wedding at the chapelle and wrote to you on that site to ask what time of year you were married and whether or not the chapelle was hot ๐Ÿ˜‰

My current pressing decisions are hair and makeup and my reception venue.  Do you have any suggestions?  For hair and makeup, I found Lexi DeRock on my own, but the planner recommend Muriel and Fred (one is hair, the other is makeup) or James.  Both are very expensive.

Where did you have your reception?

One other question, do you have recommendations for a restaurant that accepts large groups and is a good choice for Americans who unfortunately do not speak french?

i have tons of questions and would appreciate any help that you have to offer!

PS Bakery recommendations too! Everything she has sent to me is in French and doesn’t offer much in the way of photos of cakes. I am going with the traditional french wedding cake.

thank you – Stacey

  • Wedding: July 2013

Hi Ladies,

I just wanted to comment that i have *just* returned from my wonderful small wedding in Paris (on July 8th 2013), and have lots of tips/feedback that I would be happy to share.  We had a 25 person wedding (all from Canada), and worked with a planner.

I found the process a bit overwhelming at times, so I am truly happy to assist anyone else that might have questions.  I will post our photos once we get them!

First off, so jealous!!! I am loving the whole Parisian vibe for a wedding but decided there was no way to wait the resident requirements…..but I have found the next best that my close family and friends could attend. We are going to the Paris las vegas hotel with their gorgeous chapel and paris feel. We are still thinking about a Paris honeymoon but that planning overwhelms me for the moment but fingers crossed we get there one day!

Hi Bees,

I’ve been reading through this thread–and I have a question about eloping in Paris…

If the couple must first have a civil ceremony, say here in the states, then goes to Paris to elope…which one is officially your wedding day? I’m assuming the civil ceremony, correct?

The topic ‘Eloping to Paris, France…’ is closed to new replies.
