- Wedding: March 2013
My wedding is in 16 days.
My bridal shower is Sunday.
Fiance and I have been taking dance lessons on Sundays.
We keep the sabbath (Shabbat) on Saturdays (Jewish) and don’t work… so Sundays are my big day to get things done.
I got this email from my boss today…
I have just received notice from JFNA that we will be receiving a delegation of leaders from Israel that are on a multi city tour of large and large intermediate sized Federations across North America. These leaders from top Israeli companies will be accompanied by politicians from Israeli government. This is a top level delegation, and I am honored that we have been selected as a stop on their tour.
Having said that, we need to quickly arrange a parlor meeting of our leadership and significant donors for this Sunday evening, February 24. We could have as many as 300 people in attendance. This is an all hands on deck affair. Set your TIVO to record the Academy Awards.
Connie is lead staff on this with help from Amy. We will meet in an hour to discuss and arrange staffing, but plan on being here on Sunday at 9am to get this organized and make calls.
This is a mandatory work event for all staff. No exceptions.
Just kidding. Happy Purim everyone and Shabbat Shalom.
I literally started crying… my employees had to tell me to read the last line. I didn’t make it that far before losing it. Then I nearly went up and strangled him. It was pretty funny though.
And yes, I work for a Jewish organization.
Purim – jovial holiday that begins Saturday night where Jews dress up in costumes (like Halloween), read the book of Esther, and drink a lot. And some people pull pranks.
Shabbat Shalom – Lit. Sabbath of peace… a greeting for the sabbath.
