@beaverbride: Unfortunately, I have no idea what desingers I tried on. I wasn’t looking for a specific designer, so didn’t even ask when I was trying on the dresses. The dress I bought is from Kenneth Winston though. As far as samples, it was a combination of the two. They had a lot of larger sample sizes, and my consultant was really good at getting me in dresses that were smaller. Regardless of size, she was excellent at clipping me into all of the dresses so I got a great idea of how they would look on me once they had been altered! My consultant was Stacey Ahlgrim, and I can’t recommend her highly enough! She’s a general manager there and does the ordering, so she was super familiar with all of the dresses. She also did a great job of pulling dresses that I wouldn’t have necessarily thought of or tried on. in fact, the one I chose is one that she pulled for me that was differen’t than I envisioned. Good luck, and keep us updated! Smile

Ok…I knowthis thread is 3 months old….but now I am even more terrified to shop! I am in Portland and scared to shop due to being a size 20. I am working hard to drop major weight before January when I shop…but boo for nothing fitting on you.

Did you ever find your dress?

I’m wondering too if you found what you were looking for. IMO you look stunning in that dress you showed us, i love your figure! But if it’s not the dress, it’s not the dress. I hope that by now you’ve found the one.

I’m a US 12 too (European 40-42) and I’m anxious to go dress shopping. I do love my curves but despise my butt and am doing everything to get rid of it ASAP. I’m scared that the fit I want to try on (bit of a sheath with a minor fish tail) will make my ass go whoomp. I love my front (boobs) and waist though so I’m hoping to find a style that suits me. I’m hoping I will find a bit of a mermaid/fish tail that will accentuate the curves in the right way, that would be great. I’m a bit afraid that they will recommend a ballgown because it will hide those spots. But I’m not looking to hide them, I’m looking to find a way and a fit to flaunt them in the right way. It’s difficult for me, I don’t see myself as a plus-size bride (not that there would be anything wrong with that of course), but also not model-size. Just average with some fatties. Let’s hope the right dress is out there. Any advice on how to tackle the process?
