@MrsMc77:  I think your hands are beautiful! and love the mani! I am also a chronic cuticle chewer and it still gets me majorly down.. but nothing like an impending wedding as an incentive! I shall come back and post once I have the shiny on my finger!

@MrsMc77:  I chew my cuticles too! I moved from biting my nails to the cuticles. πŸ™

Anyway, sometimes I do feel a bit of size envy. My ring is maybe half a carat and while my friends and family love it (as do I!), when I found the same ring but twice as big, I felt it could be bigger. If Fiance had known the ring had a bigger version, he would have gotten it for me, no doubt.

My sapphire is also pretty damn dark, with one person asking if it was black. I do get sort of defensive about it, usually prefacing people looking at my hand by saying it’s a sapphire.

I really do love my ring though. I waited years for it, and it’s the ring that symbolizes our future.

I am a cuticle chewer too πŸ™ I think it’s stress related. I almost stopped this year but now I’m about to take exams again and I started up again without even realising.

I really struggle to get good pics of my ring because the best camera I have is on my mobile phone! The other day a poster implied that my stones don’t look very clear and I realised that picture didn’t do my beauty justice, it made the stones look grey.

Here is a pic of my ring on the day Fiance gave it to me with my cold wintry hands, lol!

And to show off her sparkle:

For all you cuticle/nail chompers.. I used to be really bad at biting my nails! Here’s how I broke myself of that habit..

    1. Buy a good quality, glass nail file and keep it on you ALL THE TIME. Bonus points if it’s pretty – it’s a good excuse to take it out and file your nails when you’re tempted to chomp them (giving them a nice shape makes me less likely to be nibbling at the scraggley bits). Trust me.. spring for the glass file, you won’t regret it!

    2. Buy some nice hand cream/hand scrub and take care of your hands regularly. I bought this (which I ADORE).. it smells amazing but tastes like crap! So I am again reminded not to nibble.

    Hope this helps! πŸ™‚

Oh! ME ME ME! I cannot stop chewing my cuticles or thumb nails (or any other nail for that matter), and I don’t have long pretty fingers. And I swear my hands photograph horribly! But I do love my ring, and the man who gave it to me.

No manicure – looking the worst they have in two years! I got myself to quit chewing my nails to have pretty hands for when I was engaged, and now here I am – engaged – and gnawing them to pieces planning this wedding! I’ve got 52 days to get these bad boys looking nice!

@MrsMc77:  mmmm, thumbs! NOM NOM NOM

Yes, he sure did! I was a TERRIBLE biter for the first 6 years of our relationship, and he still loves me. πŸ™‚ Not worried about it now, but the pictures are forever. I refuse to get acrylic nails though, so worse case, I will put on some dang glue on, fakeys!

*le sigh* I just took a Biotin pill. Maybe I’ll just gnosh on one of those whenever I want to bite. Can you OD on Biotin? LOL

I have had BAD eczema on my left hand (on my middle knuckle) since I was a year old. I am trying to clear it up before the wedding…I also have short, fat, crooked fingers and hairy knuckles. All around? I am most insecure about my hands over any other body part.

Here are some pictures embracing my unqiue flawed left hand – took these pictures RIGHT after I got engaged and he gave me the ring:
