isabeelle:  Not really.  I think it actually looks smaller in real life.  And I have small hands…size 3 so 44 in French which might make the stone look bigger.  Here are some more pics from farther away…

happytogether:  This is just out of sheer curiosity, but can I ask how much the 3.01ct emerald-cut IF/F diamond cost? (I can see from your other comments that you picked it out with your husband and it’s not set in your original engagement ring, so I’m assuming you most likely do know the price…).

Are you guys an “average-income” couple who saved up over a long period of time to buy the stone, or would you consider yourselves to be on the wealthy side? I literally don’t know *anyone* who owns such a large (and high-quality) diamond!

P.S. It’s gorgeous.

elusive:  Thank you

Haha I honestly don’t know how to answer some of your questions. I feel there are many more bees with larger and more brilliant diamonds/gems than mine

The diamond in my e-ring was an heirloom from DH’s family so we shopped together for my dream emerald cut. We compared loose stones from Blue Nile, Diamond Source of VA, and James Allen. We went with BN’s signature ideal cut. I’m sure you could find similar stones with today’s prices. (we bought ours about a year ago)
