Dear Bees,
This is my first post here, and I just wanted to first say thanks to you all for keeping me so raptly entertained! I live in Brussels and its very tense times here right now and you ladies keep me sane and upbeat :).
Thank you for that!
And then I would also like to call for some emerald cut ring porn pls.. Preferably with halo and with TW of 2-4ct.
We recently ordered my new e-ring and we are supposed to pick it up in Paris in 2 weeks, but in the meantime I am absolutely dying to see what it would look like. We went for the Tiffany Soleste style, with a center stone of 1.2 or 1.5ct (I wasn’t paying attention as I was being blinded by the stone in front of me). That stone was SO beautiful, E color and not sure which clarity, but completely eye clean at least, cut beautifully and reflected light like nothing I had seen before. It was lovelier than what I saw at Tiffany’s for sure. And then the little stones on the band and halo was another 1.2 or 1.5 ct (again not paying attention). My fingers are tiny, French size 47.
So please distract my magpie soul and send me your pictures and specs!
Thanks,
Isabee

Center stone is 1.26 ct D VVS1 with .78 ct in the halo, making it 2.04 CTW…

Souzie: Thank you so much for showing your ring, it is stunning! But you are making me a little worried as your ring looks really huge on your finger. I actually wanted a medium sized rock, as I don’t want too much attention drawn onto the ring/me.. But your ring looks like it would garner a lot of attention, does it? Thanks again 🙂

marriedalready69: Gosh what an elegant ring, I could stare at it all day, really. Emerald cuts and Ashoka are so amazing! Would it be terribly cheeky to ask for the specs? 🙂 and thanks for sharing the picture of your beautiful ring!

isabeelle: Not really. I think it actually looks smaller in real life. And I have small hands…size 3 so 44 in French which might make the stone look bigger. Here are some more pics from farther away…

happytogether:Â This is just out of sheer curiosity, but can I ask how much the 3.01ct emerald-cut IF/F diamond cost? (I can see from your other comments that you picked it out with your husband and it’s not set in your original engagement ring, so I’m assuming you most likely do know the price…).Â
Are you guys an “average-income” couple who saved up over a long period of time to buy the stone, or would you consider yourselves to be on the wealthy side? I literally don’t know *anyone* who owns such a large (and high-quality) diamond!Â
P.S. It’s gorgeous.Â

elusive: Thank you
Haha I honestly don’t know how to answer some of your questions
. I feel there are many more bees with larger and more brilliant diamonds/gems than mine
The diamond in my e-ring was an heirloom from DH’s family so we shopped together for my dream emerald cut. We compared loose stones from Blue Nile, Diamond Source of VA, and James Allen. We went with BN’s signature ideal cut. I’m sure you could find similar stones with today’s prices. (we bought ours about a year ago)

happytogether: Wow, just wow! What kind of forever setting are you leaning towards? With a stone as beautiful and large as yours, perhaps no halo? It’s so beautiful I feel it does not need the extra sparkle. I will post my ring if I ever get it! I’m stuck in Belgium (which is only just and just opening after what basically felt war) and ring is in Paris (another “safe” place right now). Sorry, just needed to complain a bit, I know I’m being a spoiled brat.. Boohoo, poor little girl can’t get her diamonds because the government is trying to protect her from terrorists. I know 🙂
