@CosmoPip:

Wow Cosmo your ring is STUNNING! I have an emerald cut also with 2 smaller emerald cuts on each side. I have also been worried by the exact same thing but I love the gap I am going to get a plain plat band as a wedding ring and then hoping my Fiance will buy me a full baguette cut 3mm band at some point so my engagement will be in between, gaps and all!

Do you mind me asking what size your centre stone is and your ring size? I have always wanted a specific sized stone but since Fiance asked my mum what my favourite diamond would be and surprised me with a ring I didn’t get it! So longing to upgrade in the future ๐Ÿ˜€

You don’t like the gap? I think it looks lovely, but it’s certainly an acquired taste.

If you don’t like the way that last picture looks to you, there are bands that have a little ‘cutout’ that the wedding band makes space for your stone. I would go to a jeweler and see if they have something like that?

Something like this, but straight:

I have an emerald cut e-ring and the gap does not bother me one bit.  Your rings are so beautiful I think they look fine with the gap.

Here is my emerald cut. There is a gap with my band, but you get used to it very quickly

There are definitely bands out there that can help you avoid a gap if you think it would bother you. I did a quick image search and found a lot like this:

Or you could just get something like this and rock the gap:

For what it’s worth, I love the gap in between the rings!! It really let’s them stand on their own as two separate rings with separate meanings ๐Ÿ™‚

You could always get something custom made if you don’t want the gap.  I don’t have an emerald cut, mine is a cushion, but the setting bumps out where the center stone is.  I had a jeweler make mine and it came out fabulous!

@shhh bee: The gap grows on you. I really have learned to love it, and I am able to wear the band on its own!

He she is, I think my Fiance paid over the odds for it though getting it made through the local jeweler. If you put the specs of the centre stone in Blue Nile its about £1,500 and I think he paid about £3000 for it and £2000 for the plat band! Just wish he had looked online and saved some money at least or asked me what stone I wanted! ๐Ÿ™ I don’t know how to feel, just bad for him that he spent so much money on me really.

Hi Folks – Trying to re-open this thread as I am now dealing with the same issue. Went to Tiffany’s (for kicks) and tried on wedding bands with my emerald cut and couldn’t find one I liked. I dont mind if it doesn’t sit flush – I’m okay with the gap – but I want something that flows with it. Not too matchy… but you know. Would love to see what others have used!

Here’s mine:
