Hi, I love your ring! Where is it from, and how many carats is it? I am looking for a 2.5 carat oval setting, and I think this would be lovely in oval — and would love to look at your designer’s work!

Hey ladies, I’m curious about some of the weights of these diamonds… do emeralds tend to look smaller than other cuts, or comparable?

It really depends on the depth and the table. Emerald cuts have been rumored to have less table percentage and more depth than other cuts but that is not true with a well cut emerald. I need to post mine b/c I have a 1.02 carat emerald but it tends to look at tad bigger than the 1 carat emerald cuts that I’ve seen in stores. My emerald cut is 6.99mm x 5.20mm. It’s also not as retangular as many emeralds, which I personally think makes it look bigger on the finger, especially if you don’t have stick fingers. If you are looking at diamonds online I would grab a ruler and draw out the measurements to give you a better idea.

Here’s a pic of my center diamond with the trapzoid sides, and my center diamond by itself. I need to get a pic of the actual ring since it’s been made =)

I love my emerald cut ring! I love that it is very unique and it takes a certain gal to know what she wants. 🙂
Thanks for the ideas bees on wedding bands. I have a Tiffany cut solitaire and am unsure as what would fit well with that. The double bands looks pretty. May have to consider that!
