@jessicadarling:  Can I ask how big your diamond is and how big your fingers are? Your ring looks absolutely perfect on your finger! The perfect size!

I know it’s an old thread, but wanted to share mine (just got them 2 days ago! feels still unreal and can’t stop looking at the ring!!), so my beauty can help other decide what they really want in their ering as well. Before I got proposed, I’d been reading wedding bee’s posting on emerald cut for many days, and I don’t know how much time I drooled on its beauty looking at others and imagined how the ring would look on my own finger!

P.S – I strongly encourage you to get your guy study the diamond before the purchase! (I live in NY, and one time when we went to diamond district on the 49th to just to browse, we got booted out because we didn’t have any understanding of diamond stats.)

My man did his study on diamond for MONTHS after I told him about my ideal ering, which is emerald cut. His friend that is a jewlerer was even surprised by his in depth knowledge on diamond and I had to just love him for trying to get what’s best for me!

Ok. Here’s the pic and the stats of the ring. 1.02ct, H, IF, Excellent and my finger size is 3. 🙂 Sorry for the huge size pic!

this photo was taken right at the moment when he proposed!!!

Thanks @FutureDrAtkins. It is an upgrade actually. My husband chose a 1.01 round F, VS2 solitaire with accents which I wore for over six years and I loved what it represented but I never liked the size because I felt it looked minute on my size 7.75 finger, plus I love sparkly, blingy jewellery, I even had a friend who looked at it shortly after I got engaged and said “oh it’s quite small” ! Can you believe that??  It wasn’t even much less than than the cost of my new ring! Silly girl! I have no doubt she knows little about diamonds anyway that didn’t help my feelings towards it so I always knew I wanted an upgrade at some point. So my darling husband decided it was time for me to love a ring he puts on my finger after we lost a pregnancy (another long story I won’t depress you with the details) and we swapped the diamonds at blue Nile where we got the first one. Now I can’t stop staring at my finger. I love love LOVE emerald cuts.

Bridey77:  Lol I didn’t know either till I found it on the website for Zales. It said center stone baguettes lol. I saw it in the store the first time and swore it was an emerald. I love all step cut stones emeralds,  baguettes, aschers they are so classy.
