Hi bees! So I am absolutely in love with sapphire erings. I love how elegant and regal they are, yet still original as well. I can’t decide between an emerald cut sapphire or oval cut sapphire. What do you all think? Please post pics as well! And I’m looking for a deep blue sapphire. Thanks!!!

Emerald cut is my favorite for diamonds. But I prefer oval for sapphires.

Personally, I would go for oval in this case. As much as I love emerald cuts, I think that a deep blue sapphire would look better as an oval. Plus, I remember one Bee with an earth-mined, deep blue asscher sapphire e-ring…she said that her stone was almost impossible to find. Emerald cuts may be a more popular step cut than asschers, but I would still be concerned that finding one could be difficult.

I love ovals myself. I plan on getting an oval montana sapphire.
My mom had a sapphire emerald cut. It was very dark, but I think it depends on the quality of the stone. It chipped and she just got a very expensive 2 carat emerald cut diamond….. I thought it was fake but apparently not.

Ovals are so pretty in sapphires. I think the deep blues, in particular, are gorgeous in that cut.
Not my engagement ring … and not in a very fancy setting … but here is my oval sapphire. (Lab created, but still quite pretty to me
)

There are some absolutely amazing, amazing sapphire rings around here. I hope you get lots of pics posted to your thread, because I looooove to drool over them all. Good luck with your ring and stone search!

I have an elongated cushion cut blue sapphire, so similar to an oval cut:

Here is my emerald cut stone. Still picking out a setting, but thought it could help as an emerald example. It is an emerald table with a radiant pavillion.
