I love emeralds along with all other gems. I live everything thats my problem… I just wonder if its a better question to ask what type of setting should a person get who wishes to have a softer gem? Another bee has amethyst in her engagement ring which her jeweler recommended against. But, her setting is build in a way which it protects the gems. Interesting…
When I got my ring 2 jewelers just about gave me a piece of their mind when I said I wanted sapphire. They were like – NNooooo. When I asked why I didn’t get a straight answer. In the end I got what I wanted but had to research quite a bit to cut through the bs.

My husband is a geologist, and he confirmed having an emerald is a- ok for a ring to wear every day. Here is mine. ;0)

Here is my emerald engagement ring! I talked to the jeweler and he said as long as it’s set properly, you don’t need to worry about it breaking. Like others have said, it is more fragile than other gemstones but as long as you aren’t banging it around all the time you should be fine! Love emeralds!!

I have a centre diamond and two emerald .5 carat side stone. I love it, it is beautiful. I have other emerald jewelry that I have owned for years with no problems. I wear my engagement ring every day and I only remove it when I am doing something particularly messy and for showers.
