I haven’t had experience with different test results, but my suggestion would be to buy another test and wait until tomorrow morning to take it. They say if you take it first thing in the morning you may get clearer results since your pee is more concentrated. Hope that helps!

@iluvblueberries:  Either the first test was faulty, or it could be so early in your pregnancy that when you drank a bunch of water, it diluted the horomones in your system.  I would take another test tomorrow morning, and if still unsure, wait a couple days to test in the morning again (since the horomones will double ever few days).

Oh goodness! Stock up on more tests, and try one in the morning. Lay off the pee sticks for today.

The best you can do is go for the blood test. I wanna say two days late is not that much to worry about but It sounds confusing with all your spotting and stuff…

Keep in touch!! Hopefully other mama bees have some advice!

@iluvblueberries: the water probably diluted the hormones, which is why it was negative later.

Wait until tomorrow morning and retest.  IF it’s negative then, call your doctor and tell them.  They’ll probably want you to come in for an office pee test, or even a blood test.

It’s very possible to have a positive then a negative.  It’s called a “chemical” pregnancy and is basically when it just doesn’t stick.  I’m NOT saying this is what happened, but that it can and does happen.

good luck!!!

I’ve heard of the equate Wal-mart brand (I think that’s the one) gives false positves ALOT and has been known to be faulty… but don’t know about the cvs brand

I would get another first response and try again in the morning. Until then, try not to think about it…. I know that’s easier said than done, but worrying about it will not accomplish anything.

Goodluck sweetie 😉

Don’t take another one until morning.

I would vote for a name brand digital test if that’s something you can afford right now. That way you will have less chance of wanting to challenge whatever the results are.

Then follow up with your dr on Tues.

I don’t want to tell you I know for sure what the answer is here, but maybe this story will help until you can get to the doctor. My friend called me one night freaking out because she had taken a pregnancy test and it came out positive (a condom broke but she had taken plan B a few weeks before). It was one of those very cheap tests from a no-name brand. She also thought she was having symptoms of pregnancy. I bought her first response, and she took one that night which came out negative. Like you, she was still unsure and took the other the next morning first thing as recommended. It also came out negative. She was not pregnant, and I blame the cheap test. Try to stay calm until you get the Dr. and know for sure!

Usually a positive is a positive. I’m guessing the diluting of the urine and the different brand is what gave you the negatives. Test again tomorrow with a first response test.

Make sure you test first thing in the morning, that’s always the best time.  Take a deep breath and retest in the am!

I took 6 urine tests and 3 blood tests… all of them gave us different results. I had to have an ultrasound to find out for sure… My hormones are wacky or something my doctor said that happens sometimes.

I however know if you take multiple tests after downing lots of fluids they can come out negative… like previous posts said (test in the morning- that’s the best way to test early on)

I’ve also heard that SMU (second morning urine) is often better to test with, so if you are going to do two tests, you can do both.

I have never heard of a false digital test though.

I definitely trust the 1st response tests over the other generic brands, I’ve also heard about false positives occuring with a store brand {i think walmart brand} Hopefully you can get a blood test done soon and then you can know for sure if you are pregnant or not. good luck!!
