I got home today to 2 more RSVP’s. As I’m sure many other Brides have done, we sent out Invitations to everyone in our extended family, even those that we knew wouldn’t be able to make it. I got one in the mail today from a non-blood related or marriage related relative (we all have those aunts and uncles who aren’t really aunts and uncles) and what was enclosed made me cry.
“I wish you both happiness and love. You know your grandfather and I went all over town to find just the right tent for your visit one summer.”
I completely lost it. This woman that I haven’t seen since I was a little kid took the time to sit down and write me an entire letter. And made me cry! I have no memory of this but I can see myself demanding a Pocahontas tent somewhere back in time. It puts everything in a different light. And if I’m getting choked up over RSVP’s I can’t imagine how I’m going to keep composure the actual day of.
Anyone else going through this?
