Okay I know that all this stuff is petty and it is not typically like me to get upset about it but I feel like all this is building up and has finally pushed me over the edge. To start with I have recently been promoted after they fired by boss 6 months ago so work has been stressful because I am taking on the job of 2 people and I am an accountant so it is year end and we are BUSY!! Like working late and stressing and dreaming about work late not to mention I have a wedding less than 4 months away that still has alot of details to focus on.
I am having issues with my future in-laws making snarky comments to my future hubby about how they think my family is rude, cold and making us obey them with their money (totally not the case but it still upsets me that they feel this way).
I went to go pick up my wedding dress yesterday – was super stoked because it had been 6 months since I ordered it – I get there and this thing is fricken humungous like if i didnt hold it up it would fall off. How did that happen so was just kinda bummed cuz it looked not so nice even after they had tried clipping it to get a better idea. Then they gave me some spiel about how the designer probably put the wrong size label on it and they would need to keep it there to remeasure the dress and see what was going on and also needed to remeasure me to see if my size had changed. Okay i was like sweet i am down 10 pounds and I have been working out and gone down a size in clothes well they tell me that i gained 2 inches in my hips and 1 in my stomach so then I am feeling like a fat cow and sad because I can’t take my dress – i know stupid stuff.
I wish we would have just eloped lol.

You know, I kind of wonder if it’s a set-up with the bridal salons and the alterations people. I mean, okay, sure, it’s LOADS easier to alter a dress down than size it up but doesn’t it seem like girls get pushed into crazy bigger sizes than they really need? And I would not even trust their measurements of me at some places. I dunno, that was a pet peeve of mine and I ended up going to a hole in the wall independent place run by a seamstress who measured me like five times to be sure and actually suggested I choose a smaller size (my dress is free at the hips). Anywho the point is, I wouldn’t buy any of that ‘designer put the wrong label on it’ crap and measure yourself at home, just to be sure. Also, IF your hips and waist gained inches while you’re working out, that’s all muscle! So keep at it and the balance will shift and fat will melt away from other places.
Sorry your work and family situations are being poopy, it sucks when people forget how to be adults and use their words, and just snark and bitch instead. Make a few calm, pointed references to eloping and see if they change their tune? 😉

Stop what your doing, shut down the computer, tell whoever needs to know that you have come down with Austrailian Wallabee Virus and are going home for the day. Call your Mom, go home, get a bottle of wine and a hot bath, soak, sip, repeat!

@krstino1012: I’m sorry you’re feeling so down. If it makes you feel any better, I’ve lost 10 lbs, too, but gained an inch around my stomach.
Your dress will look gorgeous once it fits. They may have messed up on the size, but they should be able to fix it so that it fits the same way it did when you fell in love with it.
I like @Nona99:‘s advice. I’m holding onto that one!

@krstino1012: I soooo feel for you! I do accounting too. We are also in year-end and it is SUPER, SUPER STRESSFUL!! We also have 2, yes 2, audits in February.
I hope everything works out for you and you can relax soon. On a bright note, at least your dress is too big and not too small. (wink)
