(Closed) Employers “holding” a paycheck to make it a week behind??

I would say to contact an employment agency, some kind of legal person. That sounds really odd, and it does sound illegal. If you work you should be paid for those hours worked on a regular schedule. I mean just handing over $200 cash? Weird.

@misskarianne: They can legally hold it back, if it’s there standard process. It doesn’t matter if he’s a contractor or a regular employee. As long as they aren’t just holding it for him, then there’s nothing you can do.

You need good credit for a business loan. If he goes to just buy a car on a lot with their financing he’ll have a better shot since the credit limitations aren’t as strict.
