I tend to save for travel. Flights to Europe or Hawaii… Not really a mate item but not cheap at all

I never buy things for myself but I always splurge on trips and vacations. For example, We went to Disney for  part of our honeymoon and then my friend wanted to go six months later –  it was during my birthday so I figured why the heck not I love Disney!  $800 later but you only live once:)

To answer your original post…

Reading some of the splurges other bees mention have me thinking… I really dont consider travel and stuff for my hosue as treating myself.. maybe I should though!?

If we count travel we took a cruise in Jan that cost about 4500 CAD

But normally I treat myself to bags (the most Ive spent is as of recent.. a couple thousand)

Shoes not as much.. my name may be slightly misleading (as some bees like to point out I buy these lol) but I only have 2 pairs of Loubous

Macbook Air? I kind of looked at this as a must have? (yikes I feel bad now lol)

Maybe most recent would be a DVF dress for 400 but they last a lifetime!

diddles112230:  Beautiful pendant! It looks so lovely and classic.

Oh, gosh, splurges.  I am not sure I can pick a most expensive. Mostly it is on scuba diving equipment (gets crazy expensive especially with the kind of diving we do) or other outdoor equipment (bikes, kayaks) or travel (mostly also scuba related). I do also like to buy myself the occasional pretty bauble. I never was into jewelery until after I was married, ha ha. But I did just splurge on this baby, though it is on layaway to try and mitigate expense as the Canadian dollar has been improving, so I won’t see it for a little while 🙂

Def a purse- When I got in to law school on a full ride to one of the top schools in the country I went out and bought the LV Artsy in empreinte in Iris blue. Did I really need a $3000 purse no absolutely not especially since I am a student, but I had worked extremely hard in undergrad graduated with 0 student loan debt (I had a full ride in undergrad as well) I was also 2nd in my graduating class, scored in the 95 percentile on my LSAT and I got in to my top choice school, I felt like I deserved it. I use that bag a lot lol even when it doesn’t really match because 1) I bought it with my own money which I had saved during 4 years of hostessing at an upscale restaurant in Miami 2) although I have other really nice handbags and I love them this one is reminds me that if you work hard enough you Can achieve your dreams ( also this color is very similar to one of my school colors so yay for school spirt)

OP life is short my motto work he’d play harder if you can afford it go for it!

If you can afford it & you want it do it! Idk if you would  call it a gift for myself but my engagement ring was 6k which a lot of people have “nicely” basically said is outrageous. But I’m going to wear it every single day so I don’t mind spending that much on something that is going to get its use. Its weird to say this after I said 6k on a ring, but my glasses were about $300 w/ lenses. I wanted nice glasses since I’m going to wear them almost every day so I got raybans I really liked and got anti-glare and scratch on them. Again some people think that’s ridiculous when I could’ve got basic ones for $50-$100 butttt its something I’ll use often

The most expensive thing I’ve probably bought myself is a laptop, but that doesn’t feel like it should count, as I use it for the odd bit of freelance work, so it’s a piece of work related kit, rather than a proper “treat yoself” item.

When we went to design my engagement ring after we got engaged, I fell in love with a sapphire that was gorgeous, but slightly too big for what I wanted for my e-ring. Because it was coming up to my 30th birthday, I had the jeweller set it into a necklace that she designed for me 🙂 Apart from that, I’ve got a few pairs of semi-pricy heels that are definite treat items.

theatrejulia:  YESSSS! THIS!

But for me, the most expensive thing I’ve ever bought myself were a pair of Louboutin Daf Booties. I just really love shoes! And honestly for how high they are they’re super comfy!

My tattoos! Everything else I’ve spent a lot of money on was because I had to (i.e. my car)

We just spent about $900 in one weekend for our 1st wedding anniversary trip. Other than the hotel, it was mostly food haha 😀 Food and travel are our splurges- we don’t often buy expensive items, mostly because we don’t have the income for it. I do want to buy my husband a leather Fossil watch though, he’s been eyeing it for he past few months, but he doesn’t ever spend that much on himself. (And it’s only $155 or so haha nothing compared to the splurges on here!)

My 5th generation ipod touch when I received my full ride scholarship to my undergrad.  And my forza 6 limited edition xbox for maintaining a A- average over the first two years. Plan on getting a half back tattoo that means a lot to me upon graduation.
