my old set is going to broken up and the diamonds will be given to my children,,, they arent big stones but it will be something to help with their futures.i think combine diamond carat is .5 maybe 1….. will have to get a pic of it…..and its not the orignal wedding set. ex husband cheated on me and i told him if he wanted to make us work he will buy me a new ring and promise he wouldnt cheat and betray our children again… well yeahe bought new ring he kept on cheating..

new ring set is huge- total 2 carats. actualy a set- a solitarie with a wraparound wedding band. both white gold but i never been a fan of yellow gold so thats probably the only simalarity.

This is fun! My first e-ring was a 1.something (1.2.? 1.3?) round brilliant solitaire with baguettes in platinum. He picked it out. It was a beautiful diamond but not the style I would have chosen myself, although I did love it. Don’t have a picture of my actual ring, but it is exactly like the picture below.

My future e-ring will be exactly what I want. 2ct moissanite solitaire (Amora OEC, woohoo!) in a bezel setting with a halo.

Fun topic…

Don’t have a picture of my actual rings from my first marriage (circa 1980), but I went on-line and found something similar…

This was a pretty common look for that time period… when the price of Gold was very high and Interest Rates were thru the roof (over 20%… over 30% for Credit Card Purchases).  Lol, a guy could afford only so much… so most gals got the Gold and lost out on the Diamonds (something less than .33 or .25 was certainly “the norm”).  Although to be fair, I do know that most of my GFs who are still married, and have celebrated several “milestone” Wedding Anniversaries, their guys have rewarded them with more “sparkly rings” to mark the occasions.

This time round…

My NEW E-Ring is absolutely NOTHING like my first (and I planned it that way).  I knew when we went looking that I did not want a Solitaire as that is what I had the first time… I wanted a “substantial” ring more like a cocktail ring, because unlike my GFs, Hubby and I most likely won’t reach for example a 25th Wedding Anniversary (lol, he’d be close to 90) and a convenient “excuse”  to buy more bling in the future.

Yes a vast difference from the first time round… the total carat weight here is almost 2Cs.

The Wedding Band is probably going to be quite plain… I have been looking at just narrow rounded / domed bands (although Hubby-2-B thinks it might be nice to have some “glitter” on it as well… lol, only time will tell, I guess).

my 1st set was a 5/8 pear with a 1/2 carat wrap in yellow gold my ex picked out…. in 1999.. SO NOT MY STYLE.. i did not like the pear or orund, ive always loved princess. here is the old set with my new ering..the pear looks bigger but it was  a flat pear so it was a lot smaller and the cut & clarity were way lower. My old set i sold recently to put the money towards my wedding.. i had kept it thinking i was going to get it made into a neckalce for my daughter but she didnt want it.

my new set…. over 2.25 princess cut ering. and in 4 months… .75 wedding band-all in white gold for a total of 3 carats.. this set is SO me.. my Fiance let me  pick my ering and he picked the wedding band, and i love it completely!

@GFerg:  Thank you! πŸ™‚ I got compliments on that first one allll the time, lol. We’ll see how many I get when I get my new one (eventually!). I’m loving your new halo, so gorgeous!

Oh, and I missed your question about what I did with it… I sold mine a year after my divorce was final. I was pretty broke and needed the money, and I didn’t care for the associations tied to the ring. Wasn’t like I could use it again anyway lol.

First time around: We were married in 2007 after being together for 3 years. Basterd had an affair with a co-worker and we we divorced in 2009. This is the ring I picked and did not wear a wedding band with it. It held a .75 ideal cut hearts and arrows round, VS1, H diamond in the middle. I could not keep it. I sold it to a private jeweler because he left me with some debt and I wanted to pay it all off so I could start over…and get new boobs! lol

My Darling Husband and I just upgraded my set to this: 1.16 solitaire and a diamond and amethyst w-band

I wanted something different but I still wanted some color and I tend to like thicker sets. I have a bigger stone this time around but it is not as ideal as my last one. It’s a Very good cut,G in color though.

So sorry for the huge pics!! I am still not sure how to resize them!!
