I sold the old wedding ring (it was gorgeous) but used some old diamonds from a tennis bracelet I no longer wear and added a few more (of the same size )brand new diamonds to make my wedding band!

We saved thousands!  And it’s gorgeous!

I have a few leftover diamonds (about .25 carat each) from the bracelet, and will purchase maybe a few more diamonds in the future to make a new necklace, prob a journey necklace to symbolize the new life path I’m on.

Just very blessed!  I am a lemons to lemonade kinda gal!

Hahahaha, Yup I traded those puppies in for my new ring.  Said to myself, my guy can get me a really nice ring, but him and my EX can get me an even NICER ring.  Plus my EX owes me for the crap I put up with.

I gave back the engagement ring to the ex, he said he didn’t want it, later he just took it and didn’t even tell me, I thought I’d lost it until I told him and he’s like, I took it!  That just made me super glad I broke up with him.

My FH is an encore groom, it is my first wedding. He was married very young to his HS sweetheart. His wedding band was a very thin white gold band that we decided to sell to a gold dealer. The idea was to put that money towards my engagement ring. I had a lot of issues when he and I moved in together about holding on to things from their marriage, but for some reason this did not bother me. I guess it represented moving on, or whatever.  However, when we finally sold it, the ring was only worth about $40. LOL! As I said, it was very thin, and I think, only 14 ct. Needless to say it didn’t put much of a dent into our ring budget. We had a nice dinner out that night though. LOL! He wound up telling me that when they bought all the rings his was thrown in free for buying her engagement/wedding band combo together. So, I guess in the end he did make a little profit.  🙂

l so weird about this but it happened not once, but twice. The only way for me to get it through that I was leaving my exes was to give back the rings. I never got theirs, but I gave mine up both times. Goodbye and good riddance, I say!

I was 19 when I got married the first time. So my ring was nothing worth selling, I gave it back. He gave it to his second wife! They divorced so I have no clue what happened to it after that.

We divorced under pretty amicable circumstances, just got married WAY too young and I was pregnant.  Then a few years later we realized we didn’t really need to be married just because our parents said so!  I sold my wedding band, the promise ring he gave me in HS, and the 3/4c diamond from my engagement ring will go to our daughter on her 18th birthday… hopefully to not be used till she’s 30 lol!

Well, since I was basically the one who ended up paying for my rings the first time I had no problem using the Zales buy up program.  In fact, my Fiance suggested it because I wasn’t going to get much for them otherwise.  So essentially my rings were half off!  Worked for us….

I did have a failed engagement (I was younger and stupid) so I just sold my ring flat out. I didn’t want to keep it or have anything to do with that relationship anymore.

I’m not a repeat bride, but my Future Mother-In-Law wanted my Fiance to use her old ring to propose to me. Not only was the ring not at all what my Fiance and I wanted, but we really didn’t want to use the ring from his parents’ divorce. Thankfully, it wasn’t a huge issue–because it was so different from what we wanted, we had an easy “out”–and I now have a gorgeous engagement ring that’s perfect for me and not a reminder of FIL’s failed marriage.

I decided to see what I could do with mine, so I took it back to the jeweler that I bought it from.  I was told I got get 50% of the money back, or trade up for something else.  My current bf was there with me (we had discussed getting engaged but we are completely strapped for money) and we decided together that we wanted to use it towards my ring, so he picked it out right there and I have the most beautiful ring that we could have never afforded otherwise!  We don’t feel bad about the “karma” or whatever….it’s a completely new relationship, new ring, etc.  I love him, and it!  Smile

I have the band (simply narrow gold band) and the engagement ring (diamond clusters, blech) from my ex-husband.  Also have a star sapphire necklace from him.  Those will go to my son (what? my ex was just a sperm donor… he wants nothing to do with his son, which makes me very happy) at some point.  My Fiance doesn’t care since they have no sentimental value to me and are a part of who I was and helped make who I am today.

They’re currently in the jewelry box amidst all my other jewelry.
