We are probably going to elope so I will say no one is going to walk me down the aisle this time.  In fact, there may not be an aisle as we’re considering getting married on a sailboat.

The guy I dated prior to SO was asked by his ex-wife to walk her down the aisle for her second wedding.  Her thoughts on it were that her father had “given her away” to him and now it was up to him to give her away to the new husband.  And I hear he did it!  Yeah….sooooo glad I got away from that batch of crazy…

My mother is walking me down the aisle and my dad will meet us part way. I was originally just going to have my mom do it because its been pretty much just me and her my whole life but my dad was there from time to time so i figured i’d let him walk me a little bit LOL

Fiance and I have pretty much decided to walk each other down the aisle. My father isn’t involved in my life and I suppose I could ask a brother but, really, we’ll escort each other (we’re also planning to have cocktail hour before the wedding and attend it together!).

Fiance and I are walking together.  I’ve been married 2x before and dad gave me away….but it’s just not fitting anymore.  FI and I are planning and paying for the whole thing ourselves, and we want to walk as equals.

I have no idea what I’m doing here…my Dad walked me down the aisle at my first (big, 200+ guest affair) and I loved it.  I’m not divorced, my first husband died, so I don’t know what to do.  We’re doing an outdoor picnic type wedding this time, getting married in the same place as the reception and I was thinking about possibly having my father perform the ceremony?  If that happens, I was actually thinking of walking down the aisle with our dog…neither of us has children and it’s a much more casual type deal than last time but I still don’t know.  I guess we’ll see!

I was thrilled to have my 17yo son walk me down the “aisle”/beach. My beautiful 15 yo daughter was my Maid/Matron of Honor and only attendant. It was such a special moment for the 3 of us!

Ahh, I haven’t decided yet. I will either walk up the aisle by myself or have both of my parents walk with me.

My dad walked with me last time and I don’t want to repeat that. But I’m also not sure if my super traditional parents will be ok with either of the non-traditional options I’m considering. Hopefully we’ll be able to reach a decision that makes all of us happy.

I’ll be walking alone this time around as well.  The first marriage my dad was to, but he broke his back the week of the wedding and was in the hospital, so I walked alone.  Flash forward 8 years to now and my dad has since passed.  I would have loved to have my oldest nephew who is a US Marine to walk me down in his dress blues.  He was my dad’s pride & joy, but due to his training schedule and being stationed in Hawaii, its not going to happen.   So again, I walk alone

Both of my parents walked me down! My mom said “He didn’t raise you by himself! I should be able to give you away too!”

*Ignore my weird face *I was trying not to cry! lol

I will proudly be taking the arm of my gorgeous son, who will be 16 at the time of the wedding, and the hand of my beautiful then-11yr old daughter.  Unfortunately, I lost my father 10 years ago to cancer, otherwise, it would have been him and my son.  My Fiance is thrilled with the idea.
