Yes. All I knew was that I didn’t want a ballgown. I wanted lace and color of some sort. I ended up with a fully white strapless gown. I tried it on and kept comparing everything else to it. It was nothing like what i had thought I wanted.

I didn’t do any dress research beforehand  (3 month engagement so I had to pick a dress and quick ) so i didnt get hung up on a dress that was on some supermodel, for example because I’m anything but.

Being 36 years old, I do know what suits my body shape – I have a baby tum when I eat, for example and rather thick thighs, and also 5 foot, so I’m also short. Which means mermaid  doesnt suit me at all. I generally wear floaty loose clothing which is fitted at waist – A line. Being a swing dancer, I also like lace and lots of florals too.

All I knew, was i wanted a very glamourous extension of what I usually wear and that was enough to go on. I tried on the 4th dress at Davids Bridals, and it was vintage, yet floaty A line, with florals, not strapless since I dont have a large bust.

You still need to look like yourself/recogniseable and knowing what your general day to day style is, will definately help.
