Hiya ladies – long time lurker here and am very VERY thrilled to say now officially engaged as of yesterday!!!
Bit of back story – the boy and I have been together this time around (previously university sweethearts) for just over 4.5 years and would have gotten engaged before now if it weren’t for three years of the most appalling luck with jobs and redundancies (long story).
At any rate I’m delighted to say we both agreed that there was no point to waiting for the perfect time / circumstances and we just wanted to move forward with our lives.
He took matters into his own hands and whilst visiting a monument in a medieval village in the Sourh of France he gave me a Kinder Egg as a treat and the ring was hidden inside the toy box (soooo shocked that he managed to get it in there and re-seal the chocolate egg and re-wrap the foil!). Whilst blubbering away he gets to one knee and asks me to be his wife. Needless to say I said YES!!! 😍
So excited to start planning now!! Thanks for letting me share and enjoy some pics of my beauty😊

Thank you all!! He actually had it designed/made specially by a jeweller in Hatton Garden which makes it all the more special to me 💕 The fact that sapphires are also my birthstone is of course a bonus 😆

Lol mine did the same thing. It was 2001 when I proposed to him and we weren’t very financial so I added “I don’t need a ring, I’d take a plastic ring from a kinder surprise for all I care, I just want to be with you”.
he then proceeded to buy me kinder surprises for the next year, every couple of weeks. There was never a plastic ring! Haha
a year later in 2002, we went to this beautiful winery for lunch and he gave me my last kinder surprise ( which had the ring in it) got down on one knee and proposed to ME 🙂
congratulations bee, your ring is beautiful And Your post sent loads of memories flooding back for me X

Hahaha – love that we’re in good company with the Kinder Eggs!!
No date set yet – stI’ll need to have the dreaded budget chat with the parental units – but think it’s going to be around this time next year. Always wanted a fall wedding!!
