I got engaged this weekend! He proposed on the top of a mountain that we hiked up, which was so appropriate since we met through our hiking group. 3 friends were with us, and they were able to capture the moment with photos, which was awesome!
My fiance and I had our 5 year anniversary at the end of January. He had been unsure about marriage, in the past saying things like “I want to pull the trigger but just haven’t been able to.” He was previously engaged and his ex had cheated on him multiple times while they were engaged, so I know that partially contributed to his hesitation. But I did wonder if he would ever decide he wanted marriage with me. I’ve been stalking the waiting board for a few months. Anyway, we went to dinner for our 5 year anniversary and he said he was ready for marriage and asked if I’d help him pick out a ring. We got engaged 2 weeks later – I sent him the ring I wanted a week after that dinner, and he proposed the day after he got the ring! So while it was a long time coming, once he made up his mind, he didn’t waste any time!
