It finally happened, my Fiance proposed after 7 1/2 years together.
It happened on my birthday. We went up to wine country for a weekend in the middle of the week. We spent the day on a wine tour enjoying the gorgeous weather and plenty of wine. That night we had dinner at the restuarant at the inn where we were staying. There is a golf course with a waterfall right next door, so he suggested we take a stroll to walk off dinner.
As we are walking, he starts telling me how much I mean to him. Then he tells me that he has my birthday present with him, but it comes with a very important question. “Will you marry me?” I squealed and said yes before he even opened the ring box. Which of course contained the ring of my dreams.
So slight confession. I knew. I had picked out my ring a few months ago at a jewelry store and made friends with a sales associate. A few weeks before my birthday, I opened some mail containing a credit card for that jewelry store. That plus a weekend away, was easy to put together. Knowing didn’t make me any less thrilled and happy and excited. If anything, I got the anticipation to add to the excitement. I couldn’t sleep the night before knowing that it was coming.

Wait or no wait, knowing he is going to propse or not knowing, you still get the same feeling when he finally does it. Congratulations, your ring is gorgeous.

Congratulations!! I’m sure waiting that long makes it even sweeter and more special. The proposal sounds lovely, and knowing the surprise probably helped you enjoy it even more (rather than having to nervously wait). =)

Congratulations! Just curious, did you tell your Fiance you knew about the ring? I am in the same boat and am expecting it next weekend when we will be camping.
