If your family is accepting of your relationship, I think they’ll be happy to hear the news! What is your biggest concern with telling them? Why do you think it could go poorly?

Just out of curiosity, how old are you? Is that a factor here?

I hope no matter what, you get to celebrate the happy occasion with your family. How has her family responded to it?

As long as they know you are dating I’m don’t see why there would be a problem.. If they love her already, there is deff no issue.

Seems like it should be an easy were engaged

You might want to read Mrs. Eagle’s blog posts. They might be hard to read, but it could prepare you for a variety of reactions.

How often do you talk to your parents about your relationship? Would it make you feel better to ease them into the conversation, like mentioning “we’ve been talking about getting married sometime in the next few years” to gauge their reaction and prepare them for the actual announcement.

I am sorry you deal with anxiety issues; that makes things like this a lot more difficult! But, from an outside perspective, it really does sound like they’ll be happy for you and excited to celebrate your commitment.
