Fiance and I got engaged on Christmas (yaay!) but the ring he ordered for me had a processing problem, didn’t get here on time, and consequently he proposed sans ring. That was okay, I didn’t care. I still am just so happy to be engaged because we love eachother so much!
The ring FINALLY came Friday, and we were so excited to see it! the online pics looked so perfect! We opened the ringbox and… The stone that was pictured blue… Was PURPLE. I am not even a fan of purple :/ so today we have to send it back and wait some more for our exchange for a different stone. Sigh.
I know its just a trinket and theres no shame in being ringless… But dangit I want my sparkly! We’re telling everyone we’re engaged and everyone wants to see the ring but then we have no ring to show, other than my promise ring thats severely scratched. ;/ it bums me out that I can’t show it off.
I’m tired of waiting for my ring and hoping it will look good, I just want it now lol. I hate feeling so shallow about it. Anyone else go through something like this?

I know how you feel. My Fiance proposed to me with a stand in ring that was 1/10 of a carat. I know I shouldn’t have cared, but I didn’t tell anyone but one friend and my mother I was engaged bc I was kind of embarassed and was tired of telling people that this wasn’t my forever ring. Enjoy this time with your Fi and you’ll have your ring soon! Cant wait to see it!

blah! Just mailed back the original ring, talk about nerve-wracking leaving it in someone elses hands! Got insurance on it just in case. Now just gotta wait for the next ring to come.

@Omgbunnies: Maybe your engagement could be a fun little secret for a while, and then it’ll be even more special when the ring finally arrives?
Shitty but at least you’re engaged 😀

Aww 🙁 *hugs* I’m sorry! For a lot of people the ring is a big part of the engagement and it’s the first thing people ask to see, shortly followed by the “do you have a date picked?”
It’ll be here soon!!
