My boyfriend of 15 months proposed a few days before New Year’s Eve during a surprise getaway to the beach. It was so romantic – a sunset walk with champagne (after he led me to believe earlier that day that it would probably be at least a few more months before it happened).
3 years ago I was engaged to someone else and that fell apart a few months later. I posted about the devastating heartbreak and how I did not believe I would ever be happy again. A year and a half later I met my current boyfriend, who is 100x a better fit for me. It was worth going through the heartbreak to meet him – I literally could not be happier!
I am a minimalist and I work with children/babies for a living. My only request when he asked me several months ago was that it be an asscher cut diamond and not large. He chose a flawless stone that fits me and my style perfectly. I love it so much!

I love how simple and classic your ring is. I have a simple solitaire and whenever I walk past jewellery stores I drool over the halos and more attention grabbing 1.5+ carat diamonds, however I know that I’d be much more likely to grow out of those sorts of styles and that I’d find the considerably larger sized stones really annoying long term (my modest sized diamond already knocks on everything as is).
The great thing about simple styles is they don’t look like too little or too much no matter what you’re wearing 🙂

Congrats, loooooove asschers! Also, I took a peek back at your post regarding your first engagement and girl, I’ve so been there with the hot mess breakup (5 years, he finally proposes and I ended it a month later). I’m so glad to see it all worked out for the best for you as well! We ordered my ring today after 14 months of dating. Never thought it would go that fast for me but when you know, you know! I think it has to do with the European men having their shit together 😉

God, I love asschers. They’re like my archetype for diamonds.
