I take mine off as soon as I get home from work and put it back in the original ring box. I don’t wear it in the house but always when I leave.

This is my second wedding… and my first Bridal Set I wore pretty much all the time 24-7-365.  Mind you they were predominently gold, with not much bling (we were broke 23 year olds just graduated from University)

This time round…

My E-Ring is gorgeous… and a lot more glittery.  I’d almost say, more Diamonds than Gold

I am not worried about it for regular day-to-day things… Showering, Washing My Hair, Working, Cooking etc.  But I do find myself more conscious of it (then again it is just a few weeks old).

Lol, right now I seem to be wearing it more as a fashion statement (just like the rest of my Jewellery) putting it on when I’m not hanging out around the house.

My long term plan though, is to wear it like I did my first set… almost constantly… taking it off to do any cooking / baking that might be messy – heavy duty cleaning – gardening, or anything in the yard / handywork where it might get damaged.  Also when applying hand or suntan lotion etc.

Also have plans not to wear it when Hubby & I go anywhere in our travels where it might be in jeopardy… such as scuba diving, or visiting countries where it might attract attention.  In those cases it’ll be locked up securly in a Safe or Saety Deposit Box.

I take mine off to shower, clean the house, sometimes when I do the dishes, and if I swim in the ocean. Also, I’m a massage therapist so I take it off everytime I have to work. I put them on my necklace that I wear specifically for that purpose. Massage + rings do not work!

Showering, bathing my daughter, touching raw meat, harsh chemicals, swimming, going to the beach in general, and to concerts or other large events. I’m too scared I will lose it (a ring slipped off of my hand a few years ago, and I am still heartbroken about it, and scared my e-ring will, too)

My list of what I don’t do with it on is probably greater than the list of things I DO do with it on. I don’t wear it to:

shower, sleep, cook, clean, the beach or anywhere that it will get mucky

I pretty much wear it to work, out with friends or Fiance, errands….anywhere public I guess (except the beach). I keep it in the box it came in when I’m not wearing it, and I’m really anal retentive about it being clean.

I only take my rings off to put lotion on, makeup, mess with chemicals, gardening, cleaning- things that require harsh chemicals or rough work. In those instances, I have a plain wedding I wear that is my stand in during those times. Otherwise I keep my rings on even when I sleep 🙂

Uhhh i don’t take mine off

Saying that i use food prep gloves when touching raw meat (i’m strange touching raw meat with my bare hands makes feel throw up)

I figure if it cost that much money it should be sturdy and be able to handle all situations. I have had it on for over a year and it still looks as new as the day it was put on my finger. It’s white gold so i will get it rhodium plated a fortnight before our wedding day to make it all new and fresh again.

I wear mine almost 24/7.  I keep it on for sleeping, showering, working out… I try to remember to take it off if I’m cleaning with harsh chemicals.  And I take it off if I’m going to stick my hands into something gross (like dough, meat, etc).

@Floridian Belle:  I usually don’t wear mine at home or to the gym, or swimming. I am also afraid to wear it around babies as its proncess cut and I don’t want to accidentally scratch them.

Hm. I don’t clean (even if I’m wearing gloves), shower, wash my face, or do anything messy with it on. I do wash my hands with it on, though, since the soap/water cleans it nicely.

I never take mine off. I maybe would if I was doing heavy planting of flowers or painting. Other than that, it stays on my finger always.

I take it off when I:

  • Garden
  • Do dishes
  • Do laundry
  • Put on lotion/put stuff in my hair
  • Cook anything messy (raw meat, bread dough or pastry)
  • Anything else messy (painting, heavy cleaning)

I leave it on for everything else, including washing my hands and sleeping.

@WestieGirl:  I do this exactly otherwise I would take it off constantly and afraid of misplacing it or falling somewhere I can’t reach, but most certainly don’t leave home w/o it.
