I thought about this in another thread, and realized that during my proposal, both my Darling Husband and I were so nervous that I don’t remember what he said! I remember his hands shaking, and feeling a surge of emotion and joy. Someone else mentioned the same thing happened to them. Do you remember everything he or she said? How much do you remember!

notmeeither : I remember my husband being silent, on one knee, holding the ring up at me, then blurting out “marry me”. He thinks that he said “Will you marry me”. Not a huge difference obviously but we remember things slightly different.
Afterwards he told he didn’t have a speech planned but expected to say quite a bit more but lost all his words when the time came.

He gave me a nice long speech about how much he loved me and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. I don’t remember everything, but I do remember how sweet and romantic it was and how I felt when he was proposing.

I remember the gist of what he said and I remember that he said my full name. But the minute I saw the ring I got really emotional and everything was pretty much a blur. He said he had this whole speech prepared but when the time came it was all so overwhelming he just kinda stuck to the bare minimum lol.

I remember we were talking about some of the big changes that were happening, especially the new job he was about to start, and he went on a bit about how thankful he is to have my support and that I’m a really great partner and that’s why….*pulled out ring*.

I remember one thing: “And I don’t know why Bob is recording this right now”
Thats literally the only part of what he said I remember. I do also remember the emphasis he put on the actual words so it was like “So WILL you marry me?” with an emphasis on the word will.

I do remember, but it’s because he had written his little speech on an index card and had that in his hand in case he got nervous and forgot what he wanted to say. He stayed on script and then he gave me the index card. I look at it every now and then, even 5 years later. It was such a sweet moment.

I remember some of it from the moment… but my hubby wrote it down in a letter and read it to me, so I can go back and read it when I want to 🙂 that helps!

notmeeither : I think I remember one line of his proposal! I totally blacked out in the moment lol. I don’t even remember him asking me to marry him. I just started nodding and saying yes! I even asked him right after it happened to repeat what he said and STILL don’t remember most of it.

Our proposal was more on the silly side, so I guess it was easier to remember! My fiancé set up a big scavenger hunt for me that I assumed would lead to the ring, but instead led to these little figurines that come in boxes (which the two of us collect).
I proceeded to get very annoyed while he assured me that “that’s it” and there was no other part of the hunt. But when I opened up the boxes, I found the ring hidden in one of them. He burst out laughing when I found it, dropped to one knee and asked “Will you marry me?” And I rolled my eyes and said “Yes, you brat” LOL I think that quote will always be cemented in both our memories 😂

I remember him telling me how much he loves me and how he loves what I brought into his life. I recall something to the effect of wanting to spend the rest of his life with me, but for the life of me I can’t remember if he asked me to marry him or to spend my life with him. I just kept asking him if he was serious. What I will never forget is how I felt in that moment, where we were and how he looked. <3

My heart was pounding in my ears, and my fiance’s voice always gets really high and soft when he’s nervous, so honestly I wasn’t able to hear a lot of what he said. I heard something about being a huge part of his life, and wanting to make me an even bigger part forever, but that’s about it.
We did manage to get a video, but the sound is so soft, so it’s really hard to hear, so there are STILL parts that neither of us have any idea what was said.

My husband said a long speech when he was down on one knee but I didn’t hear any of it because I was SO. EXCITED!
I was so excited, I remember thinking, “Has he asked if I want to marry him yet? Or is he still talking? I’m just going to keep shaking my head yes until he gets back up.”
So I kept smiling and shaking my head until it was silent for a while. I was awkward but I’m awkward normally. I do wish I heard all of the lovely things he said and felt bad for not listening to his speech right away. But the whole experience was still lovely.

He said “do you want to wear your ring to dinner with your friends tomorrow?”
