notmeeither :  I remember every word he said.

“While we’re here…. *gets on one knee*… will you marry me?”

What can I say?  Guy ain’t a wordsmith.

notmeeither :  OMG this has been my secret shame for so long. I thought I was the only one to not have had every word my husband said etched into my memory.  I have literally zero clue and does not recall one word of what he said during the proposal!! Lol. Also no clue what I said in response either, but at least one of the words presumably was yes because we’re married.

I don’t remember a word. I was too busy trying to understand why water was dumped on my head (yep, that was my proposal).

I remember he took me out to Lover’s Leap, Virginia to look at the scenery. It was on the side of the road and it was a beautiful sight. Though there was graffiti on many of the rocks there and I particularly remember one had ‘deez nuts’ written on it (I’m not kidding). So after looking at the scenery for a few minutes, I was ready to keep on going. But he said to hold on and enjoy the view more. I knew that the proposal was coming. He had called my parents the day before to ask for their blessing. However, we weren’t exactly alone since there was a biker man taking pictures. I just kept looking out at the scenery once the biker left. Then, I see he is reaching into his pocket and pulls out the box. He gets down on one knee and says, “Will you marry me?” with a big smile on his face. Of course I said yes. Lol sometimes I tease him about the graffiti rocks. But yeah, that’s my proposal story!

    notmeeither :

I remember it pretty clearly. Partly because it was so short…

I could tell he was starting to panic a little. We went hiking, and it was a beautiful day, and I could tell he was kinda scanning the landscape trying to figure out where to do it. I finally casually suggested we take a seat next to this waterfall, you know to rest a bit.

We sat there – I am not kidding – for like 15 minutes. He was starting to babble, and sounding more and more nervous. I kept waiting and waiting and finally figured he wasn’t gonna do it. As I was standing up, he said “Wait a second…”

He sat next to me on a rock and told me how much he loved me and how wonderful his life was now that we were together. He said we had amazing adventures together, and he hoped we could keep having adventures together for the rest of our lives, and held out the ring.

He told me he was super nervous. He’s not a speechmaker, and I literally am. I have trophies and shit. He wanted to come up with something all profound and romantic but kept thinking I’d probably write a better proposal if I did it for him.

I’m really glad he did it his own way. It was very fitting and felt wonderful. Plus, the setting was so amazing, it’s kinda hard to forget…

Oh man, I wish so much I could remember! I remember telling him we were in my favourite place ever and then I remember him saying, “are you sure?”

    I said “yes!”

then he said, “well, then I have something to tell you. We’ve been together almost three years and I really love you…”

Then I couldn’t believe it was actually happening and I can’t remember another word! I just… was so so happy.

i really wish I could remember though!

I do because, God love him, he basically recited Chandler’s proposal to Monica from Friends. Like, almost work for word. The hilarious part is I don’t think he even knows he did it. I think he really felt that way and the words just floated up from his subconscious. So now I can relive my proposal any time by turning on Netflix (except replace candle lit living room with top of a mountain) 😂.

It was kind of an exciting blur so I don’t remember his exact words. Luckily my Fiance had it all planned out to the point he had someone record the entire proposal! 😀 So I can always look back and listen to how he asked.

I wouldn’t have remembered anything except he had a videographer and he had a mic on. When we replayed it afterward, it was like hearing it for the first time because I couldn’t focus on what he was saying during the proposal 🙂

notmeeither :  lol, I think inspired your thread. I was in another’s thread, talking about not even remembering the words.

Well, the new ring is on they way. Maybe I will record this next proposal.

Don’t remember a thing. I think he said “Will you be my wife?”.
