- Wedding: City, State
Hi bees! My fiancé proposed on Friday night! The story:
about 10 minutes before I got off work on Friday (3 pm) he showed up to say hi. Which was so nice because I was expecting him to be at work already (I work day shifts, he works swing shifts). He said he took the day off, and we are going out of town. A couple hours later we were in San Francisco (our favorite place to go, within driving distance) and he took me to Japantown, where I had never been before. We looked at all of the cute shops, sushi for dinner, and taiyaki for dessert.
We then drove up to Twin Peaks (sentimental for us because it was the first “out of town” trip we took as a couple). For those who don’t know, twin peaks is a beautiful overlook of SF, especially beautiful at night with all of the lights shining in the city. UNFORTUNATELY, San Francisco is also famously known for Karl the fog, so tonight was one of those nights where it was so foggy you couldn’t see anything from the top! It was so windy, wet, and foggy!! I made a remark, omg of course it would happen to us, just like us PERFECTLY imperfect and I was laughing and having such a blast (I personally like stormy weather) this must have not put a damper in his plans and he decided that he was going to propose at that spot anyway! Even though it wasn’t his ideal plan, it was still just so “us” and perfect. And he proposed exactly 20 months after we first met.
I don’t have any specs on the stone (he said he has a certificate, i just haven’t asked to see it yet) but it’s a 1 carat princess cut in white gold, 8.25 finger size.
Thank you bees for everyone’s advice on waiting, I am so excited for wedding planning now too!
(This pic is the view from the top! Couldn’t see anything through the fog!)
(this pic is after we drove down the hill little bit and the fog cleared up, and you can really see how beautiful the city is at night)
