Hi everyone, I am so excited to be officially engaged to the love of my life!! 🙂
I posted on here a few months ago for advice while we were designing the ring, and everyone’s advice/suggestions were SO helpful – I am in love with the final product x
For those interested in the ring specs, it is a 1.72 carat cushion cut lab-grown diamond, F colour, VVS2. The ring itself is a UK size J (which I think is an American 4.75). Which brings me to my next point…
Although I had my finger sized at the jeweler’s in London several months ago before the ring was made, the ring is slightly loose on my finger. Sadly, due to visa issues, I have to leave the UK on Wednesday and return home to Texas, so I will need to sort out the ring issue there!
I have heard that ring beads are a good option because they could easily be removed should I decide to have the ring resized at our London jeweller the next time I’m able to travel to London. Thoughts??
Also, if anyone has any jeweller recommendations for the Dallas/Fort Worth area, I would be so appreciative!!! I’m already dreading the thought of parting with the ring even for a day, but especially nervous to drop it off somewhere other than the jeweller in London that made the ring!
Thanks in advance for any suggestions or advice!!

Congratulations! Your ring is absolutely gorgeous! I think going with sizing beads is a great idea. If it’s only slightly big, I wouldn’t rush to have the beads removed and the ring resized. Once you add a wedding band, your engagement ring will fit slightly tighter.

My ring fits like this and you might be glad when the weather is hot and your fingers are puffy! As long as it isn’t sliding over your knuckle I would leave it as it is!

Second the advice to wait awhile. My e-ring was very loose, especially in cold weather, but it fits a lot better now I have a wedding ring too. And it can be a little too snug in very hot weather. Better to live with it large for a while until you get a feel for how much your finger size fluctuates.

You can just wear your ring on a different finger! I had the same exact problem and my engagement ring was just slightly too big for my left ring finger, so I wear it on my left middle finger instead, where it fits perfectly. Congratulations on your engagement!

Hi I got sized for my ring but lost a bit of weight before he proposed so mines also a bit too big. I brought a ring Snuggie off eBay like a silicon coil and you can cut it up into different sizes so if your hands are a little puffy one day you can use a smaller one. It’s comfy and doesn’t damage my ring x

Once you get the wedding band, it will fit perfectly! Congrats! Gorgeous ring.

No advice on fit but just here to say I LOVE the twisty band with diamonds! That’s so pretty! Now I wish I had seen that when we were looking a few months ago! Congrats!!

Congratulations it’s beautiful! I love how it seems low set. In addition to the sizing coils a pp mentioned, you could try these which I prefer: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07VQ5QC5W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
I agree once you have the wedding band the fit might be perfect, and in the meantime an independent jeweller in Texas should be able to add sizing beads while you wait — I wouldn’t leave the ring with them for such a simple thing.

Okay so my ring size is correct which is 5 1/2 which is my Engagement Ring. However…. my diamond is bigger too which makes it too heavy I guess…. so my ring spins . My fiancé got me those ring guard inserts which adds either a half a size up to 1 size I think. They work great ! Bc you don’t need to have your ring tampered with… it won’t damage your ring and this can just come right off as you wish. And when I first saw them I thought “ugh, everyone’s gonna notice this.” But it’s not true. It blends right in and you can’t even tell that the piece is there.

Hi bees, thank you all for your lovely and helpful words of advice!!! I have decided to keep wearing it as is and see how it feels during the summer months. So far, so good, and I got it insured which is great peace of mind! xxx

Dang that is a nice ring!
I’d use temporary sizers for now. When you add the wedding band or when your fingers swell in heat, you’ll be glad you waited to resize
I had to resize my e ring to be bigger, and there are still times when it’s too snug ::cries
