The only finger my promise ring fit on was my left ring finger. And that’s where my wedding band and e-ring go. So no, I don’t wear it anymore. Haven’t worn it since DH and I hit engaged.

Here is my claddagh promise ring from 1996. It was given to me on St. Patrick’s Day too. The BF was moving to a different state for school and wanted me to know that he would still be there for me. I ended up moving with him a month later. It originally had a garnet but I lost it when we were moving. I didn’t wear it for a long time after we got married and then after son #2 was born in November 2007, DH had a Citrine put in it.

I got my promise ring resized to wear on my right hand, but sometimes I stack it with my engagement ring. They don’t exactly go together but I like having both of them on for sentimental reasons. I usually end up switching it back and forth between hands throughout the day.

My promise ring has become my permanent engagement ring.
