Hello my bees,
My fiance has ordered the engagement ring, eeep! 😀 Apparently it’s a 2.2mm band, and my size is a UK M (That’s 6 1/4 to you American bees). I am planning to wear the wedding band and e-ring on the same finger, but for the time being, will that width be too thin for that size do you think? I have medium-ish sized hands and quite long fingers.

I think that size sounds perfect, and right around normal. I have a size 6 ring and the width of my band at the base of the ring is 2-3 mm, not sure which.

Hello and WELCOME!! This is a 2.2 on a size 4 hand. Hope it helps a little. It is pretty thin for now, but with a band will be perfect.

Not at all. My ring size is a 7 & my engagement ring is a little under 2mm I think. & My wedding band is right at 2mm.
Here is a picture:

Thank you for your replies so far! To be specific, the ring is 1/2 a carat, VVS1 with excellent cut, colour F. The platinum band tapers to the diamond to emphasise the size and brilliance.
So you don’t think this would look to thin or small? I remember trying on a very delicate ring once and thinking to myself, too much finger, not enough ring visible haha.

I wear a size 4.5 and the band on my ering is 2mm and my wedding band is a tad thicker. I love the thinner bands, they make your ring look more delicate. Your ring sounds gorgeous!

it sounds like you and I have similar hands and similar ring proportions. mine is size 6.5 (US size), and my fingers are long. both of my bands are 2mm wide, my center stone is 1/2 ct. it’s just my personal style, but I like how my set looks and wouldn’t want my bands to be any wider than that.
(sorry, I don’t have a photo of how my ring looks with the entire hand)

Wedding ring is 2mm and E ring slightly under 2mm

I think those are perfect proportions – but I love the thin and dainty look. When your rings are paired together though, It’ll be like 5-6 cm probably..that’s a significant amount of ring I think! Can’t wait to see it when it’s on your finger!

@JewishBride: I always hope you will comment on ring boards so that I can drool over your ring. For realz.
My ring is a 6.25 and I think 2mm. My band is a tiny bit thicker:

As long as it looks proportionate to each other – you should have no problems 🙂

About 2 mm is pretty standard for erings and wedding bands from what I’ve seen here for all finger sizes. I think it’ll be just fine!

that’s not super thin. my band is 4mm (so yours is a little more than half) and it’s REALLY wide. ring is a size 5:

here is mine
i have a pave eng. band and i got a realllly fine claw wedding- i wanted them to look different and wanted the band thinner than eng. ring so as not to detract from it or feel too bulky on.

I wear a size 4.75 ring….my e-ring band is pretty thick, it’s 4mm. Then my wedding band is 1mm.
