I have the next week and a half off work as I am in the exam period of my semester at Uni.
So seeing as I have some time on my hands I thought I would make my partner a nice home cooked meal for tea (he usually does all of the cooking as I am usually at work 12 hours a day) and I though of engagement chicken! Has any one else tried enagement chicken?
It sounds yummo and if an engagement followed shortly after I wouldnt complain lol
Do you bees like to do nice cute at home romantic things for your partner? We like to go on a date once a month.. but I thought a nice dinner and dessert at home would be fun in between dates! 🙂

LOL I made my Fiance engagement chicken probably a dozen times! He really likes it!! (And I suppose it worked, if it took like a year!)

I sort of unwittingly made engagement chicken when I was looking for a good roast chicken recipe. Two weeks later….engaged! I didn’t make the connection until a girlfriend asked me for the recipe Fiance was raving about to his buddy (her boyfriend). Weird!!

My boyfriend also loooooves engagement chicken. I’ve cooked it twice now and both times he raved about it all night. It really is delicious! Just make sure you also pair it with good sides…it’s gotta be an engagement meal 🙂

I made engagement chicken for my fiance and 4 months later, ring!
I put so much freaking love into that bird. I marinated it with my secret family seasoning overnight and then put it in the oven for about 4-5 hours, low. made rice and potatoes. We have leftovers for DAYS! The next night was Engagement chicken salad, Engagement chicken tacos…engagement chicken soup! So delicious. I made a 7lb bird for only two people! Never AGAIN! now I stick to 3-4lb birds.
here is my post

Did anyone see the episode of Anna & Kristina when someone did get to proposed to when testing out engagement chicken from a recipe book? I thought it was really cute!
I wonder if someone contacted them and they went out of their way to find a book with engagement chicken?

I cook all of the time anyways…and my boyfriend “doesn’t like meat off of the bone” because he’s insane, so an engagement chicken would not work in my situation.
If anyone has any other “engagement ___________” recicpes, I’m taking suggestions.

Made the chicken in the fall, got engaged in the spring. Actually he wanted to propose to me in the fall but didn’t have the ring yet!
I originally just wanted to blow his mind with an awesome dish, but maybe it worked..! Just as a side note, I still make him engagement chicken to this day.. at least once or twice a week actually..! And we’re married 🙂
I don’t do lemons and the lemon juice anymore though.. I made the following changes:
– chop up 1 whole garlic and half a white onion as the stuffing instead of lemons
– rub the chicken with sriracha sauce before I rub extra virgin olive oil all over.. and then season with salt/pepper
Comes out delicious every. time.
