Hi engaged and married bees!
I was wondering what your experience is/ was while engaged and planning a wedding. I am 1 1/2 years away from the big day (June 7 2014) and sometimes I lay in bed wanting it to be sooner. We have had serious discussions about moving it up because it seems so far away! We are not though which is a whole different story and trust me.. there is a lot of extras we have to deal with and tha is why we are waiting until June 2014.
SOme people say it will fly by, and others say it is SO FAR away.. in your experience did it go by quickly? Even if the engagement wasnt as long as ours?

Mine is only 8 months, but YES – time has flown!! Especially with the holidays.

I’m in the midst of a year-long engagement (5 months down…7 to go) and it definitely hasn’t flown by. Maybe it’s because my Fiance and I are long distance?

I’ve been engaged for almost a year and we’re getting married next September. This year has flown by. The Fiance and I were just talking about how we can’t believe it’s almost 2013 already.

i’m getting married around the same time as you and have been engaged since July. i really do feel like the time has flown by, but i think that’s also because i’m in grad school and am really busy with everything else. i’m really thankful to have a long engagement for that reason only.

My engagement is a total of 14 months. Engaged Dec 2011, Married Feb 2013. It seemed so far away….until September of this year. Holy effin balls, I don’t know what’s happening to the time. It’s going warp speed fast, and suddenly I’m almost 2 months away from walking down the aisle! Thankfully I am a planner and I got most of the big stuff done early, but I am starting to feel pressure and like there is still so much to do, and omgz it’s 73 days away!
So yes, it’s far away now. But it will hit you hard as you get closer, and before you know it, the wedding is tomorrow.

We have a total of 16 months from engagment to our wedding date.. when you’re in the present time it seems so far away.. but in a few months you’ll look back and be like “Whoa, where did those 3 months just go?!” I can’t believe we are under 5 months to go!! I didn’t think it would go by quickly, but it does.. especially when it gets closer & you get busier with wedding stuff!

Our engagement is 14 months and we’re just a few months away and it has FLOWN! I cannot believe it. Every time I turn around, it’s the beginning of a new month. I actually wish I had a little big MORE time to get everything together!

Darling Husband and I were engaged from December 24, 2010 to October 13, 2012. I’m still in shock that it’s over!

@MrsWBS: I’m getting that way, too. “Can’t I just have one more month? Two weeks?”

I’ve been engaged for 15 months and the wedding is still 7 months out. It sort of dragged the first year but you also get a lot of time to call each other fiancé which I got a HUGE kick out of! Lol and now that we are in the middle of planning and the holidays time is really flying by!

I can’t believe I’ve already been engaged for 4 months. It has really flown by for me, and I’m hoping I don’t forget to do anything! I had my first wedding “nightmare” last night since I’ve been engaged (I had some before I was engaged) – we were on our way to the altar and realized we forgot to get wedding bands! So I was frantically trying to get someone to take some twine off of some of the decorations (???) so we could make a ring! Ha! Anyway, back to the point – It will probably seem like it’s dragging along for awhile here, but once next summer hits, I think it will start to fly by for you too!
Just don’t let it sneak up on you! 🙂

wow! this is encouraging! i dont want to wish this time of my life away and i know there is so much to do but we dont live together yet and some nights when he has to leave its just like… ugggghhh i cant wait for the days when we can just go to sleep together and not have to drive home!
I am trying to get a lot of things in order now and make timelines so i do not get swamped and stressed so time goes TOO fast
I guess I am surprised that the proposal was 2 months ago already!

We have been engaged for 6 months, and in some ways it seems like its flown by, but in others I feel like I’ve been engaged FOREVER!
We are getting married in 18 weeks, which when I write it down looks like a very short space of time… but still feels like ages. I know how you feel, and I just want it DONE – but I have a feeling I am going to panic in about 12 weeks time…
